How pickup works
When it comes to picking up your donated RV or motorhome, Cleveland Car Connect utilizes specialized transport options to ensure your vehicle is handled with care. We often employ RV-transport flatbeds or drive-away services based on the model and condition of your vehicle. It's essential for us to coordinate with your RV park or storage facility, especially if you're not available on site. Please note that vehicle length and height are critical, as most states require routing for a maximum clearance of 13'6”. This ensures a smooth and hassle-free pickup experience, tailored to your unique situation.
What drives donation value
The value of your donated RV or motorhome can be influenced by various factors, primarily the condition of its house systems such as the roof, slides, plumbing, and air conditioning. Unlike traditional vehicles, where the drivetrain might be the main concern, the overall livability and functionality of these systems dictate the donation's value. Additionally, any water damage can significantly reduce worth. Recent maintenance records can positively impact the appraised value, especially during the peak season for RV sales and auctions, which typically occurs in spring. For classic RVs, obtaining an appraisal using IRS Form 8283 Section B from a qualified appraiser is advisable to ensure proper value recognition.
Documentation you need
- Vehicle title
- Current registration
- Maintenance service records
- Appraisal (for classic models)
- Manufacturer's Statement of Origin (for off-road vehicles)
Cleveland specifics
In Cleveland, Ohio, it's important to understand the local regulations surrounding RV donations. The DMV requires that you have a clear title for the vehicle, which must be transferred at the time of donation to avoid any future liability. Ohio follows state-titled vehicle guidelines, so ensure all paperwork is in order. If your RV is considered off-road, a Manufacturer's Statement of Origin (MSO) may also be needed. Being well-informed about these requirements can streamline your donation experience.
